One More Day, One More Night

“One more night, God I’ve had to fight. To keep my line of sight on what’s real”. That opening line really acts as a double underline on the pain and weariness that Tom has explored lyrically throughout much of his twelfth album. When author Paul Zollo mentions this in Conversations with Tom Petty, asking “Can you keep some perspective, being within the music industry, on the meaning and impact an album can have to some guy who is far outside of the system?”, Tom answers “I hope it’s still like that. I hope people still get albums and get inspired by them.

NOTE: The audio quality isn’t as good as it usually is as I am recording on my laptop due to my main computer, that I usually record and has my good mic etc. died last week and is away in the shop in the queue to be examined.

A last very special thanks to Paul Zollo. Without his book, “Conversations with Tom Petty”, this podcast wouldn’t be nearly as much fun to research. And further thanks to Warren Zanes for his outstanding book “Petty, the Biography”.
